Fifty West Brewing Company is excited to announce the launch of their latest one-time creation, “The Bus” Banana Bread Hefeweizen, inspired by head brewer Griffith Long’s father, Loren Long, an acclaimed children’s book illustrator. This unique beer, featuring custom artwork by Loren Long that mimics the look and feel of his newest book, The Yellow Bus, is a celebration of storytelling, craftsmanship, and family. The release event on July 6, 2024, will also feature an informal book signing by Loren Long at Fifty West Burger Bar in Mariemont, OH.

Loren Long, a celebrated Madeira resident, is known for his New York Times bestselling picture books, including Otis, which has been adapted into the animated television series Get Rolling With Otis on Apple TV. His illustrious career also includes illustrating President Barack Obama’s Of Thee I Sing, Matt de la Peña’s Love, the re-illustrated edition of The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper, and Madonna’s Mr. Peabody’s Apples. His recent works include Someone Builds the Dream by Lisa Wheeler and the much-anticipated Change Sings by Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman.

Loren Long shared his excitement about the collaboration: “Working with my son Griff on ‘The Bus’ has been an incredible experience. Combining our passions for storytelling and brewing has created something truly special, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”

Griffith Long echoed his father’s sentiments: “Creating ‘The Bus’ alongside my dad has been a dream come true. This beer is a tribute to the creativity and imagination that my dad has always inspired in me. We’re excited for people to taste it and be a part of this journey with us.”
