Ecliptic Brewing has reopened its second location – the Moon Room – in southeast Portland. The company had closed the facility in July of 2022 due to staffing issues and took some time to rethink their taproom model over the summer. Ecliptic hopes that the new Moon Room experience will bring in the vibrant southeast Portland community.
The Moon Room has gone back to basics, focusing on what the company does best- beer. With 30 tap lines, the Moon Room will serve an expanded offering of Ecliptic’s beers, including barrel-aged varieties from the company’s cellar, in addition to some cider and wine options. A variety of bar snacks are available for purchase and are made at the company’s Mothership location in North Portland. Guests can also bring their own food. Ecliptic still owns the food truck outside on their patio but is open to leasing it out and welcoming other food trucks on site.
The space also underwent a bit of a revamp and now offers a warmer vibe. The addition of some cozy booths and a lounge area now welcome guests to stay and relax, work on their laptop, or grab a board game from their shelf to play with friends. The Moon Room is also available to be rented as private event space and currently remains an adult-only, 21+ taproom.
Says Ecliptic’s Owner and Brewmaster, John Harris, “I’m excited to offer a different taproom experience at our Moon Room. The best part is that we can keep more of our beers on tap and showcase our beer archive.”
