Country Boy Partners with 250Lex on Unique Beer to Celebrate Lexington’s Music History

Country Boy Brewing is gearing up to celebrate Lexington, Kentucky’s 250th Anniversary with the release of a new beer in honor Lexington’s rich history of live music.

Wrock Lager is a malt forward Festbier brewed in memory of The Wrocklage music venue. The Wrocklage, originally located on W. Short Street in downtown Lexington, featured some of the 90’s biggest bands as they were growing to stardom.

From Soundgarden and The Smashing Pumpkins to Goo Goo Dolls and Flaming Lips, this historic venue was the cornerstone of live music in Lexington from 1988 until 1996.

“The Wrocklage was such an important venue to the Lexington Music scene in the 90’s. It cleared the way for Busters, The Dame and Cosmic Charlie’s and led to our current spots like The Green Lantern, Al’s Bar and even Manchester Music Hall.” said Nate Coppage, Co-Founder and Brewer for Country Boy Brewing.

Country Boy’s Wrock Lager is available now in all Country Boy taprooms and around Lexington at your favorite beer retailers. Join Country Boy Brewing and the 250Lex team in the Lexington Taproom on Saturday, March 22 as Lexington’s Month of Music calendar is unveiled for April 2025. Wrock Lager will be on tap with a special musical guest performing to promote April’s exciting calendar
