Appalachian Mountain Brewery (AMB) is bringing an AMB Outpost to Modern Alchemist Co. in Old Fort, transforming the lower level of the destination into a relaxed, community-driven beer experience inspired by AMB’s original Boone brewery and Mills River taproom.
The new AMB Outpost will feature 12 rotating taps, an elevated Southern pub fare menu, dog-friendly accommodations, and the laid-back hospitality that has become synonymous with AMB.

The upstairs level of the building will continue operating as a Modern Alchemist Co. Lounge and event space where visitors can overlook the distillery production area while enjoying handcrafted cocktails, beer, THC/CBD beverages or non-alcoholic offerings.
Located less than 30 minutes from Asheville, the 8,500-square-foot beverage destination sits inside a historic former sock factory and continues to evolve as hospitality hub for the growing Old Fort community.

The AMB Outpost at Modern Alchemist Co. grand opening will be celebrated on Friday June 5, 2026.
