Summit Park’s next great restaurant and bar arrives in summer 2026. MadTree and Blue Ash have partnered to bring Alcove-Summit Park. Alcove, MadTree’s elevated American bistro concept, first opened in OTR in 2022 and is known for its fresh seasonal food, greenhouse bar, cocktails, & MadTree’s craft beer & Sway. The new location will bring a fresh experience to the area, perfect for any occasion—weekend brunch, date night, client entertaining, and parkside happy hour.
Blue Ash City staff and Alcove ownership have worked for months on a partnership for the former Brown Dog space. Later this week, Blue Ash City Council will vote to approve the lease agreement. The space is expected to open later this summer. Alcove-Summit Park will be MadTree’s fourth overall location and second Alcove location. The intimate restaurant and bar will continue MadTree’s tradition of connecting people to nature and each other. Construction will begin in the spring of 2026.
“Guests will love stepping into the nook of nature alongside the 130-acre world-class park. Alcove is a natural fit at Summit Park,” said MadTree VP of Experience & Impact, Rhiannon Hoeweler. “The city of Blue Ash, its citizens, and the surrounding community have been so welcoming and supportive of MadTree and we look to grow the relationships with our second Alcove. As a part of that commitment, a portion of Alcove in Summit Park’s revenue will be donated back to Blue Ash Parks and Recreation to support and maintain Summit Park’s sustainability efforts, just like MadTree Parks & Rec.”
Additional features will be unveiled closer to summer, including a private event space and patio. The entire guest experience will be designed to complement the natural elements of Summit Park.

We’re looking forward to bringing the energy MadTree has cultivated in OTR to our community,” said Blue Ash Parks and Recreation Director Brian Kruse. “The new restaurant will welcome all types of people to utilize and enjoy park amenities. The City is excited to expand our partnership with MadTree.”
MadTree’s expansion allows the company to accelerate its goals of positively impacting the environment. The company is the only B Corp brewery in Ohio and is a proud member of 1% for the Planet. One percent of sales — including sales at all MadTree locations — are donated to local, environmental nonprofits. Summit Park will be a financial beneficiary of MadTree’s success.
