Walnut River Debuts Sucker Punch Fruity Fresh

Walnut River Brewing Company is excited to announce its July release: Sucker Punch Fruity Fresh.

A smooth, fruity taste born from hops and hibiscus, with such a strong ABV, you just don’t see it coming. Were berries used in the brew process? No. Did we dump a bucket of peaches into the mash tun? Nope. Does it need to be served with a fruit wedge and an umbrella? Hell no. The great thing about brewing is you can obtain a certain flavor profile in multiple ways, making it more art than science. But it’s a science that can pack a wallop. Enjoy.

“I’m really proud of the homebrewing program that we’ve developed.” says Jay Sanderson, Director of Sales. “Every year we invite homebrewers to show up on Black Friday and brew a beer that they want to enter into our completion. It’s turned into quite an event! We then send them home to finish off their beers. They return in January and we do a full judging according to BJCP guidelines. We even invite some special guest judges to come be a part of the process!”

“We tasted a bunch of really good beers this year!” says BJ Hunt, Director of Business Operations and Co-owner. “But Sucker Punch was absolutely the most unique brew of the day. There’s definitely a trend around infusing beers right now and this is a great example.”

“I think this is a great example of the science of brewing.” says Rick Goehring, Head Brewer and Co-owner. “I love how you can get a big, bold fruit flavor without actually using any fruit! That’s the case with Sucker Punch. There’s absolutely no actual fruit in the brewing process. All of the fruit flavors are achieved using just the hops. It’s so cool!”

“Picture this: a lazy summer afternoon, sitting on your porch with a cold can of Sucker Punch Fruity Fresh in hand,” says Ben Wheeler, Director of Marketing at Walnut River Brewing Company. “As you take that first sip, the vibrant taste of fruit punch mingled with the subtle hints of hibiscus, instantly transports you to a tropical oasis. Pure bliss, indeed.”

“As a beer enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for unique flavors. When I tried Sucker Punch Fruity Fresh for the first time, I knew I had stumbled upon something special,” says Travis Rohrberg, Director of Quality Control and Distribution and Co-owner. “Each sip transported me to a carefree summer picnic, with the refreshing essence of fruit punch and the floral touch of hibiscus tickling my senses. It became an instant favorite in my beer collection.”
