Prost Brewing Co., the brewery dedicated to German craft bier perfection, is toasting 12 years of bringing excellent German-inspired biers to Colorado and beyond. Founded in 2012 in the Lower Highland neighborhood of Denver, the family-owned brewery has become known for their unwavering dedication to quality and a blending of tried-and-true traditional German brewing wisdom with modern principles and innovative technologies.
Twelve is not only the number of years that Prost Brewing Co. has been crafting German-inspired biers—it’s roughly the number of friends you can squeeze around one of the large tables in their biergartens. Their modern, Berlin-inspired community gathering spaces in Denver, Fort Collins, Highlands Ranch and its new 60,0000 sq. ft. brewery headquarters and 10,000 sq. ft. biergarten in Northglenn feature a wide range of events from Oktoberfest to its summer concert series. The experience wouldn’t be complete without a menu of classic German fare, including authentic pretzels from Colorado-based XLVII’s Bakery and sausages from local maker Charcutnuvo.
“Prost is about bringing good bier and good food to good people,” said Prost Brewing Co. founder David Deline. “Prost’s biergartens are a welcoming and accessible community space to get an authentic taste of Germany right here in Colorado.”
Prost Brewing Company opened their new biergarten and brewery headquarters in Northglenn in January. Not your typical brewery, the facility blends old world techniques with cutting edge equipment, including an authentische (“authentic”) Kaspar Schulz brewing system imported from Germany, a state-of-the-art mill, a Schoko Vacuum Boil system and horizontal lagering tanks, and other technologies. The result is the finest German-style bier available in the U.S.
The site’s current annualized run rate is 50k bbls, and it’s not done growing. The Prost team recently installed eight horizontal lagering tanks, more than doubling their volume potential, with plans to expand further. Prost Brewing Co.’s Northglenn brewery invites fellow craft brewers to brew like a German, offering the highest quality contract brewing and co-packing services.
That unwavering dedication to quality has been recognized by some of the world’s most prestigious competitions. Earlier this year, Biergarten Lager earned a gold medal from the World Beer Cup. The brewery has been earning medals at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) since 2013, when Keller Pils won gold, followed by a gold medal in 2015 and a silver medal in 2016 for Weissbier. They took home a silver medal from GABF for Prost Pils in 2020; and a gold medal for Luna Lager and a silver medal for Prost Pils in 2023.
“As we look ahead to the next twelve years and beyond, our priority remains the same as it was on day one—to pursue the perfect bier,” said Deline.
