Oakshire to Celebrate 2nd Annual Gnome Fest with 4 Ill-Tempered Gnome Varieties

Oakshire is excited to share four beers in celebration of Ill-Tempered Gnome, their beloved winter seasonal. Both the Eugene and Portland locations will host its second annual Gnome Fest on December 14 in honor of the celebration. The events are packed with mischievous activities, and feature unique variants including Nitro, Rye-whiskey barrel-aged, and Cinnamon Vanilla Ill-Tempered Gnome which is only available at Oakshire locations.

“Gnome Fest is our yearly celebration of all things Ill-Tempered Gnome, and we really shot for the stars for 2023,” says COO Dan Russo. For each variation, our brewers started with the base of what has become the brewery’s most beloved seasonal. Ill-Tempered Gnome is a dry-hopped Winter Ale brewed with American and British malt and hopped with some of its favorite varieties from the Pacific Northwest. As the brewers started to taste through the first batches of Gnome this year, they realized that a Nitro version had never been made. Nitro Ill-Tempered Gnome is soft on the palate but has an assertive hoppiness that balances the beer. The second Gnome variant is finished with cinnamon to add a spiciness to compliment the hops and vanilla beans to mellow out the body and add a rich creaminess to the finish. Finally, the brewery team blended Very Ill-Tempered Gnome from barrels. Last released almost four years ago, the newest version was brewed to over 15% ABV and finished in Rye-whiskey barrels from a very special Vermont distillery. Big, bold, and beautiful, it rounds out a can’t-miss tasting flight at Gnome fest 2023.

Gnome Fest will consist of three dates at both Oakshire Beer Hall and Oakshire Public House this year:
