LJ Star Inc., (www.ljstar.com), a global manufacturer and supplier of sight glasses, sight flow indicators and other process optimization equipment, announced the appointment of Joel Feldman as the company’s chief operating officer. Feldman succeeds Ted Mielnik, who retired as the company’s president at the end of last year.
In his role as COO, Feldman will focus on driving organizational growth through new product development, strengthening customer relationships and leveraging synergies with our sister company, Tank Components Incorporated. He will oversee operations and product development initiatives while working closely with customers to continue the LJ Star practice of supplying advanced processing equipment to improve product quality and worker safety at customers’ manufacturing facilities.
Feldman brings to the company more than 27 years of manufacturing and engineering leadership experience. He most recently served as Vice President of Product Development at Lucas Oil Products in Indianapolis, where he led innovation and product development initiatives. Prior to that, he spent more than 25 years at Swagelok in the Cleveland/Akron area, a company with approximately $2 billion (USD) in sales, ultimately serving as Vice President of Engineering, overseeing a team of 150 associates.
Throughout his career, Feldman has demonstrated expertise in creating new technology and intellectual property, leading innovation and advancing product lines to meet market needs. He has extensive experience in finding the intersection of market, technology and product roadmaps to unite stakeholders and deliver new solutions.
“Joel’s track record of driving innovation and new product development aligns perfectly with our vision for LJ Star’s future. His experience in premium solution development and deep understanding of fluid systems will help us expand our market leadership in process optimization equipment,” said David Star, president of LJ Star. “Taken together, these qualities combined with his engineering background and team building capabilities make him the ideal person to drive our next phase of growth.”
Feldman holds both a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He has been awarded two patents during his career and currently serves on the board of Progress with Chess, a nonprofit focused on youth development through after-school programs, as well as the Operations Committee for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
