Flying Dog BreweryMaryland’s largest brewery, announces the return of its infamous “Sprint for Spat” 0.10K on Sunday, August 30, at 9:00 am in Baltimore’s Fells Pointneighborhood. Proceeds will benefit the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults and the Oyster Recovery Partnership.

“It’s an incredible feeling to have our beer unite these two important local charities in the heart of Baltimore City,” stated Flying Dog’s CMO Ben Savage. “Last year’s race raised over $8,000 for both ORP and UCF and we’re looking to double that this year.”

On race day, runners will compete in a grueling 100-meter course, with a hydration station serving complimentary oyster shooters at the halfway point. At the finish line, runners will refuel with the musical mixings of DJ Landis Expandis and Flying Dog beer, George’s Mixes and Finlandia Vodka cocktails, along with local Chesapeake oysters, and Baltimore food truck fare.

“I think people are interested to know that they can help the health of the Chesapeake Bay simply by drinking beer,” stated Stephan Abel, Executive Director of ORP. “Every bottle of Flying Dog’s Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout enables ORP to plant 10 oysters back in local waters.”

“Getting people active in the young adult cancer fight — whether it’s a triathlon or grueling 0.10K — is the UCF way, and there’s no better partner than Flying Dog,” said Brock Yetso, UCF President and CEO.

Taking “Sunday Funday” to a new level, Rappahannock, Barren Island Oysters, and Madhouse Oysters will offer “Buck A Shuck” oysters.

Advanced registration closes at noon on Friday, August 28 and day-of registration is not guaranteed. Participants will receive a race T-shirt and a commemorative 0.10K bumper sticker. Both the race and post-race party are 21+. Race details can be found at SprintForSpat.com.
