Chuckanut Brewery is happy to report Alt Bier is back! This cold conditioned German style ale is the traditional beer of Dusseldorf, Germany. Known for its elegant malt forward flavors and dry, snappy finish, Chuckanut has not released a new Alt in over a year. Winner of multiple Gold and Bronze medals from the GABF, North American Beer Awards and Washington Beer Awards, Chuckanut Alt Bier is rich bronze in color with a creamy tan head and medium body.
Chuckanut Alt Bier has subtle fruity notes with a clean finish due to its cold conditioning. Similar to other old style ales, Alt is a pleasant any time of day kind of beer. Even though it uses an ale yeast, Alt is conditioned like a lager at cold temperatures for a smooth finish. Great with sausages, ham, and potatoes Alt is a food friendly beer. Available on tap around Puget Sound and Portland, OR with cans available only at Chuckanut’s two locations (South Nut in Skagit Valley and P. Nut in Portland, OR).
