Celebrating a Decade: Grey Sail Unveils Special Edition Captain’s Daughter Cans

Grey Sail Brewing of Rhode Island is toasting the 10th anniversary of its beloved Captain’s Daughter Double IPA. Since its release in 2014, Captain’s Daughter has become a staple for craft beer enthusiasts, known for its bold hop character and vibrant tropical and citrus flavors. To celebrate this milestone, Grey Sail released a special edition Captain’s Daughter can. The limited-edition cans feature anniversary language around the can’s rim, fireworks, and a party hat worn by the iconic Captain’s Daughter herself.

The robust brew, at 8.5% ABV, features an explosive combination of Chinook, Citra, and Mosaic hops, delivering a delightful burst of tropical and citrus flavors. Originally available in 12-ounce cans and draft, it is now also offered in 16-ounce and 19.2-ounce cans, as well as on draft, ensuring fans can enjoy it in their preferred format.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate a decade of Captain’s Daughter! Thanks to the support of patrons, it’s been an incredible journey brewing this bold and flavorful double IPA. We can’t wait to raise a glass with everyone at our anniversary events,” said Alan Brinton, Grey Sail Brewing co-founder and owner.
In addition to the special edition can, Grey Sail is hosting a weekend full of fun events from Friday, Nov. 8, to Sunday, Nov. 10, at their Taproom.

The weekend kicks off with the “Taste of Captain’s Daughter,” a ticketed event where guests will enjoy an evening of food and drink celebrating a decade of the double IPA. This exclusive event will feature local vendors who have creatively incorporated Captain’s Daughter into their menus. Tickets are available for purchase here.

Captain’s Daughter is available year-round in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
