The deadline for getting applications for grants, funding research and projects related to craft brewing from the Brewers Association, is fast approaching.
The Brewers Association hopes to provide $150,000 in grants to fund up to 10 research projects.
Findings will be presented at future Craft Brewers Conferences. Under the direction of the Brewers Association technical committee, these grants are a platform for providing funding to help further research in craft brewing. The Brewers Association is looking for grant proposals focusing on a variety of topics, including hop and malt supply chain, safety, sustainability and quality related research. Research in other topics will also be considered.
Past funding has helped research in the many completed and ongoing projects such as sustainability manuals for water, energy and solid waste toolboxes; refillable keg guidelines; single-use keg guidelines; cascade hop powdery mildew disease; cascade hop aroma; and malting barley variety development.
The deadline for submitting applications is Sept. 30, 2014. Submissions can be filled out at brewersassociation.org/brewers-association/research-and-service-grants.
