Stone Rallies Breweries to Aid Santa Barbara Victims

Beginning this week, Stone Brewing’s distributing division, Stone Distributing Co., and the craft brands it carries will donate a portion of sales to benefit those in Santa Barbara County affected by the devastating fires and mudslides. Donations will be made to Direct Relief, currently providing emergency services in the area.

The donation will be generated from a percentage of Stone beer sales and the sales of Stone Distributing Co.’s supplier partners, most notably MadeWest Brewing Co. (Ventura) and Silva Brewing (Paso Robles). In addition, Stone Brewing will donate $1 of every pint or growler fill of Stone IPA at all of its Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Stone Brewing Taproom and Stone Company Store locations. Partner breweries of Stone Distributing Co. contributing to the month-long fundraising effort include:

  • Julian Hard Cider
  • Kern River Brewing Company
  • Mikkeller San Diego
  • Victory Brewing Company
  • Smog City Brewing Company

“Our hearts are heavy for the communities affected by the fires, and now mud slides, in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties,” Dominic Engels, Stone Brewing CEO expressed. “The craft brewing community has always been of the mindset that our collective efforts are more important than that of our individual needs and this is no exception. These communities really need our help, and given the good nature of our supplier partners and craft beer fans, we’re well positioned to provide financial support for their long recovery ahead.”

The rally cry is not new to Stone Brewing and its distribution arm. In a similar manner, the company raised $72,000 to aid those in Sonoma and Napa Counties following the fires last October. To date, Stone Brewing has donated more than $3.5 million to charity from events and one-off campaigns such as this.
