SweetWater Brewing has a new Dank Tank release for consumers — a big, colorful Imperial Red Ale from the Atlanta, Georgia’s Dank Tank with a name inspired by the brewery’s favorite kind of face-down festival folk: wookies who partied way too hard.
“Wookie Down” has Simcoe, Mosaic and Waimea hops that deliver a nice hoppy punch, but with a malt bill of Chocolate, Chocolate Rye, Chateau Melano Munich, 2 Row, and Wheat to balance it all out. There’s a bitterness upfront, but it vanishes rather than sitting on your palate, providing a smooth mellow finish.
