Otter Creek Puts Out Latest Hazy IPA With ‘Free Flow’

Otter Creek Brewing has kicked a brand new IPA out of the brewery and into your hearts. “Free Flow” IPA is a juicy American IPA featuring Falconer’s Flight, Citra and Galaxy hops.

Free Flow is a step forward in the brewery’s evolution as craft brewers as it tossed a healthy dose of oats and some wheat in the kettle to give this beer a little extra haze and a nice, smooth mouthfeel.

The new school hop profile features notes of guava, melon, pine, citrus rind and a bunch of other dank descriptors.

“It’s a great IPA, built as part of the evolution of what we’re doing here at the brewery,” said Brewmaster Mike Gerhart.

Like other hazy New England beers, Free Flow puts less emphasis on malt sweetness with a drier finish that’s jam-packed with hop flavors and aromas rather than bitterness.

Even though it’s been on the scene for a little over a month, Free Flow celebrated its official release on Monday, November 21, to a sold out crowd at Dark Star Orchestra’s Paramount Theatre in Rutland, Vermont.

“We live for a couple things,” Gerhart said. “Obviously our family first; two is the beer; three is the rhythm. At the brewery tunes are kicking every day. This is what we live for and we try to make beers that reflect that.”
