4th Annual San Diego Beer Weekend Set for June 27-29

The Fourth Annual SD Beer Weekend presented by the non-profit San Diego Brewers Guild will take place Friday, June 27 to Sunday, June 29. The warm-up to San Diego Beer Week in the fall is highlighted by the Rhythm & Brews festival in Vista on Saturday, June 28. Brewers Guild Executive Director Erik Fowler made the announcement.

SD Beer Weekend will feature events and specials at individual breweries throughout the County, and beer drinkers are asked to visit the Brewers Guild’s calendar to learn more.

Rhythm & Brews is a live music and craft beer festival in Downtown Vista from 1-4 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Citrus Avenue and Broadway. Guests must be 21 years of age to attend. Early bird tickets are on sale here for $65.00 (plus fees) through May 28. The price increases to $75.00 beginning May 29.

VIP tickets are also available for $80.00 (plus fees) through May 28, providing an extra hour of special beer pours from noon to 1 p.m. The price jumps to $90 beginning May 29.

More than 30 local independent craft breweries will serve unlimited tasters while guests enjoy music from the bands Soulseller and LOOM, along with DJ Goldie.

Participating breweries include Abnormal Beer Co., Belching Beaver Brewery, Burgeon Beer Company, Fall Brewing Company, Pure Project, Craft Coast Beer & Tacos, and Thorn Brewing Co.. Food vendors confirmed are 7 Siblings, Meche’s Fish Tacos, and Ms. Potato Food Truck.

Designated driver tickets will be sold for $20.00 cash at the door. No pets are allowed.

“What a way to set the table for Fourth of July week,” Fowler said. “Craft beer, music, and sunshine is all you need for a weekend to celebrate this great San Diego industry that means so much to so many people in so many communities. While the festival is our marquee event for the weekend, we just hope everyone will go out and support their favorite brewery or branch out to try a new one.”

The inaugural SD Beer Weekend took place in 2022, celebrating the Brewers Guild’s 25th anniversary. The number of independent craft brewery locations has grown to more than 150 from only 15 in 1997, a tenfold increase. San Diego County is known as The Capital of Craft™.

Several San Diego breweries recently won medals at California and worldwide beer competitions.

On Friday, April 25, seven breweries won Gold Medals at the 2025 Brewers Cup of California: Burning Beard Brewing (El Cajon), Fall Brewing (Miramar), Hodad’s Brewing Company (Serra Mesa), Pizza Port Brewing Company (Carlsbad), Pure Project (Vista brewery), Taproom Beer Co. (North Park), and Tarantula Hill Brewing Co. (San Marcos).

Five San Diego breweries won medals at the 2025 World Beer Cup on May 1, including Silver Medals from Craft Coast Beer & Tacos’ San Marcos brewery and Pizza Port Brewing Company’s breweries in Imperial Beach and Solana Beach.

San Diego Brewers Guild is a nonprofit 501(c)(6) organization of allied brewery members, tradespeople, and other providers supporting the production and distribution of craft beer.
