At their annual Weetabix Food Company supplier conference, Muntons were presented with the ‘Responsible Business Award’, a significant achievement only bestowed upon one single, outstanding supplier.

This award recognizes those suppliers who are proactive in their Corporate Social Responsibility approach, have a sustainability agenda in their business and demonstrate business excellence with their focus on people, the environment and the community.

According to Weetabix, their judging panel felt that “The Muntons submission was ‘stand-out’ and showed best-in-class business excellence with their commitment to the environment and their sustainable farming practices. They particularly loved the fact that Muntons do nature walks as a team.”

They stated that Muntons is: “A super example of a supplier truly owning their responsible business agenda with the thought leadership and drive we expect of our suppliers”.

Tom Hall, Head of Sales at Muntons Ingredients, commented: “This award shows how carefully we manage our activities.  It demonstrates our passion for supplying some of the world’s best-known food and beverage brands with the finest quality malt and malted ingredients in a responsible, sustainable way.”  He continued: “We are proud to have earned this recognition from Weetabix and look forward to continuing our hard work!”

Muntons are based in Stowmarket, Suffolk and make their malted ingredients from barley virtually all sourced from within a 50-mile radius of their maltings and buy over a quarter of a million tonnes of barley annually.  They are a major exporter shipping their products to 76 counties globally.
